is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over fifteen years experience working with children, adolescents and families. Ms. Josie has worked in a variety of settings, with youth dealing with adjustment issues, post-traumatic stress disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, oppositional-defiant disorder, anger management, anxiety, depression, and family conflict. Ms. Josie has her endorsement as a National Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors. Through this certification, Ms. Josie has traveled internationally as a Mental Health Facilitator with The Global Engagement Institute and The National Board of Certified Counselors delegations, to both Rwanda and Bhutan. Ms. Josie’s experience allows her to work with youth and their families using a multi-cultural approach within individual, family and group therapy.

Ms. Josie has been trained with trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, interpersonal therapies, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques that are incorporated in her practice with children and adolescents. Ms. Josie works with youth in the development of goals for healing by creating a safe and healthy therapeutic relationship. She enjoys seeing youth enhance their coping skills towards self-sustainability through achievement of their goals for healing.
