has been working with adults and adolescents in Richmond and Arizona for over 10 years. His experience includes work in trauma treatment centers, conducting in-home therapeutic work, residential assessments and diagnostics, and outpatient therapy. During this time, he received advanced training in trauma recovery and has worked extensively with anxiety and depression. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and master’s degree in social work from Arizona State University.

Mr. James uses a variety of treatment techniques specific to the needs of each individual client. He utilizes a range of therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavior therapy, gestalt, humanistic, relational, and Emotion Focus Therapy. His primary focus is on creating a comfortable environment and building relationships with each client to enable them to reach their highest potential.

Mr. James also specializes in utilizing EFT to help couples free themselves from negative relational patterns patterns and build healthy connections that lead to greater trust and happiness. Using EFT, clients and their partners can de-escalate conflicts, resolve relationship injuries, identify and express important emotions and needs, and create new positive patterns of interaction.
