Dr. FaceDr. Face

is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who provides therapy to individuals ranging in age from adolescence to early, middle, and late adulthood. She earned her undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary and her Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Dr. Face works with her clients to develop individualized treatment goals to facilitate positive changes in their lives. Dr. Face utilizes a developmental perspective to understand the client’s current concerns within the context of their life history and to address coping across the lifespan. In sessions, she tends to assume an interpersonal, relational, and collaborative approach with a focus on empathy, understanding from the client’s perspective, and the strength of the therapeutic relationship. She has received training in humanistic, psychodynamic, interpersonal, relational, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and couples and family systems therapies.

Dr. Face has experience providing individual and group therapies in a variety of clinical settings, including the following: incarcerated adolescents with the Department of Juvenile Justice; middle school and high school students with emotional disorders and learning disabilities in Charlottesville City Schools; and undergraduate and graduate students at the College of William and Mary Counseling Center.

Dr. Face currently holds adjunct faculty positions in Psychology with Reynolds Community College and Virginia Commonwealth University and has provided consultative services for threat assessment and violence prevention in higher educational settings.
